Hey {{first_name| default: there}},

I've been quiet here for a few weeks.

Cam and I have been building something, and I didn't want to talk about it until it actually worked.

It works now. It's free. And nobody outside this list knows it exists yet.

No LinkedIn post. No YouTube video. Nada.

Just this email 👀

You're in before everyone else, which feels like the right way to do it given you're the reason the thing exists.

The hard work nobody wants to do

This newsletter exists because of lead magnets.

The growth didn't come from posting consistently or from a video going viral. It came from the moment I stopped ending posts with "follow for more" and started ending them with something a person could actually download.

And the list goes on and on…

5,118 subscribers later, that's still the single mechanic doing the most work.

44% open rate and 8% ctr tells you the quality of the subscribers

I understand why people skip it. A post takes 30 minutes. Something worth a stranger's email address takes an afternoon, sometimes a weekend. You have to pick one narrow problem, solve it properly, design it, host it somewhere, and wire up the delivery.

Then you do it again for the next piece of content.

Most people try once, feel how much work it is, and go back to posting. Which is why the ones who keep doing it pull so far ahead.

Every YouTube video and many LinkedIn posts point at something you can take with you. That's the whole flywheel. One idea, multiple formats, and every format has a door at the end of it.

I've literally built mini apps and everything…

LinkedIn owns your followers. You own your list, and that's why the magnet matters more than the post.

Why most lead magnets don't work

I see the same four mistakes constantly.

→ It's too broad. "The complete guide to LinkedIn" converts worse than "the hook writing skill I use on every post." Narrow beats comprehensive every time, because narrow proves you understand one specific problem.

→ It's disconnected from the content. If your post is about profile optimization and your magnet is a general content calendar, the reader has to make a leap. Most won't. The magnet should be the obvious next step from the exact post they just read.

→ It takes days or weeks to build. So people build one, burn out, and never make another. Then the magnet goes stale and stops matching what they're posting about.

→ It goes nowhere. No email capture, no follow-up, just a Google Drive link. You gave away the value and got nothing back.

Fix those four and lead magnets stop being a nice-to-have.

The part that made me want to build a tool

My old setup looked like this.

Airtable as the CMS. Vercel for hosting. Resend for email delivery. Namecheap for the domain. Cam wired the whole thing together for me and our clients because we couldn't have done it alone.

It worked. It also meant that every time we signed a new client, we were touching four tools and asking my boyfriend for help.

Most people don't have a Cam. So they either pay for a bloated funnel builder, or they never make the magnet at all.

That's what we fixed.

Magnets 🧡

Build a lead magnet, get a hosted page, collect the emails. No code, no stack to wire together, no dev.

Picking the right problem and making the thing good is still on you. That part stays hard, and it should. The plumbing around it never needed to be.

→ You can publish before you own a domain. Pick a username, get a Magnets URL, be live in minutes. Connect a custom domain later if it's worth it.

→ The resource email goes out the second someone signs up, from a verified sender. No manual sending, no Zapier duct tape, no waiting until you get around to it.

→ You can add a follow-up sequence, set the delay on each email, and it stops automatically when someone books a call.

→ Signups route to Beehiiv, Kit, Slack, Pipedrive, or Zapier, so the lead lands where you already work instead of sitting in an export you never open.

That third one is the part I care about most. A lead magnet that just collects emails is a mailing list. A lead magnet that follows up while the problem is still fresh in someone's head is pipeline.

And… It's completely free.

Go make one today, while it's still just this list in there. In a week or two I'll put it in a video and post about it, and it stops being a quiet room.

One ask

If you build something with it, reply and send me the link. I want to see what people make, and the feedback from this list is the reason it's in a usable shape at all.

Talk soon,

D.
